Across the Eastern Asian world, we find again and again folktales telling of superfluous suns, and a heroic figure tasked with shooting down these excess suns. Sun Slayers is a collection of nine of these tales, found in regions as diverse as the Mongolian steppes to the jungles of Borneo and the highlands of Nepal — with each tale accompanied by an illustration inspired by local folk art.
